Fjellstrand to deliver WindServers in 2013

Norwegian shipbuilder Fjellstrand has commenced work on six new offshore wind farm support trimarans, on behalf of Danish operator customer World Marine Offshore. Monikered the WindServer class, the order consists of two 30m loa and four 25m loa vessels, the former capable of carrying up to 24 technicians, and the latter up to 12. Each Fjellstrand WindServer will be fitted with four engines, powering two controllable pitch propellers, and ballasting systems enabling them to switch between lightweight transit mode and rough weather SWATH mode.
