Macduff Shipyards has commenced work on a new £2.4 million (US$3.5 million) dredger, customised specifically for Moray Council, north-east Scotland, by Macduff Ship Design. The forthcoming newbuild will replace the 1968-built maintenance dredger Shearwater, and will be used to service the harbours administered by the council - namely Buckie, Burghead, Hopeman, Findochty, Portknockie and Cullen - as well as offering her services to other harbours in the north and east of Scotland.
