A nine-vessel contract with Istanbul-based boatbuilder RMK Marine has gifted Scottish naval architect Macduff Ship Design an increased presence within the thriving Turkish tug and workboat production sector. Q1 2016 saw the launch and handover of the first two vessels in this series, comprising the twin 14.9m × 4.8m × 2.31m harbour service vessels T. Servis 1 and T. Servis 2, both built to Macduff's technical specs and leading the way in a vessel roll-out that is set to include five 10.1m mooring tugs and two 19m, shallow-draught ASD tugs. All nine have been ordered by the same, as yet undisclosed, Turkish operator.
