摘要

Typically, when a boat is launched from a vessel via hooks, it will be lowered to the water by fore and aft lifting hooks, which must be released simultaneously once the boat is on the water. However, problems can arise should one of the hooks fail to open. In such a case, the lifeboat can remain attached to the vessel by a single lifting line - thereby posing a physical risk to personnel within the boat. In response, Henriksen Hooks of Norway believes that its new, electrically operated HHSRT lifting hook system can help to eliminate such incidents. The system incorporates a remote-control panel which governs the electric release mechanism, to ensure that both hooks open at the same time once the boat is on the water and the hooks are off-load. The group claims that the hooks can also be operated manually "in the event of a loss of electrical power".
