Chasing Windmills: An Identity Crisis in Double Falsehood at the Union Theatre, Southwark

The article considers the relationship between the lost play Cardenio by William Shakespeare and John Fletcher, and the surviving eighteenth-century play Double Falsehood supposedly derived from it. The recent performance history of the play, particularly an amateur production in Southwark in 2010, is revealing.
