A CIT may have the "look and feel" of a mutual fund, with, among other things, daily valuations and redemptions, and similar reports and information to investors. At the other extreme, a CIT may invest in commercial real estate buildings or restricted private equity interests, and have annual valuations and redemptions, and limited reports to investors.
