A small ship was making a near-coastal voyage in North European waters with a deck cargo of logs. About a day before arrival at her destination, she got caught in 70 knot winds and a major part of the deck cargo was lost overboard. She diverted to a nearby port, where it was intended to restow the cargo before resuming passage.
