The Assembly,Recalling Article 15(j) of the Convention on the International Maritime Organization regarding the functions of the Assembly in relation to regulations and guidelines concerning maritime safety,RECALLING ALSO its adoption, by resolution A.715(17), of the Code of Safe Practice for Ships carrying Timber Deck Cargoes, 1991,RECOGNIZING the need to improve the provisions contained in the Code in the light of experience gained, HAVING CONSIDERED the recommendations made by the Maritime Safety Committee at its eighty-ninth session.
