Seatrade Award for Countering Piracy

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, has taken several initiatives in the fight against piracy. With the UAE's armed forces actively fighting piracy in the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and coast of Somalia, as well as UAE participation in the ransom committee and the Regional Anti-Piracy Prosecutions and Intelligence Co-ordination Centre in the Seychelles, under His Highness' guidance the UAE has assumed a primary role in countering piracy in the region.
