The Navy League urges Congress to support a win-win-win shipbuilding program. The U.S. Navy is in the process of decommissioning Oliver Hazard Perry-class (FFG 7) frigates as these ships reach the end of functional service life. These vessels are designated for the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program and highly desired by many current and potential FMS customers. Transferring these frigates through the program supports U.S. security and foreign engagement policy, benefits the U.S. taxpayer, and creates U.S. jobs and an aftermarket for U.S. systems and services.
