Santa Barbara Honors Sailors,Marines From Adopted Units

The Santa Barbara, Calif., Council honored four Sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan at its homeport in San Diego Aug. 22, presenting them with Santa Barbara Navy League scholarships during an All-Hands call of the entire crew. Council President Patricia A. Westberg was joined by the carrier's commanding officer, Capt. Christopher Bolt, to present the scholarships to Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Joseph Hairfield, Electronics Technician 2nd Class Carlton Lawrence, Electronics Technician 1st Class Christopher Atkinson and Ensign Kevin Fahlund before a crowd of 3,000 of their shipmates in the carrier's hangar bay. Each Sailor was given a $500 check from the Santa Barbara Council.
