Laying the Foundations for The Next Digital Revolution: Innovation in the College of Engineering at Berkeley

At Berkeley, there is a new project sponsored by the State of California and industry called CITRIS (Center of Information and Technology Research in the Interests of Society). Starting out from social problems rather than the technology, its approach is radically different. Core technologies are being developed, built and tested for distributed information systems, microsensors, microactuators and human/computer interaction. The resolution of these problems will greatly improve the quality of life of people all over the planet.
