Functional Food Science And Nutrigenomics

In 2002, nutrigenomics was established as applied genomics in the science of nutrition. Behind this event was a major global progress in functional food science as a new domain of the nutrition sciences. The notable aspect of this progress is the attempt to measure the effects of ingested functional foods by means of simple indicators such as biomarkers prior to examining those it by human intervention tests. The emergence of nutrigenomics came to represent these efforts. At the beginning, transcriptomics was the mainstay.
