The genotype HDC-75 (CPGP-2-75-98) has been developed at Agricultural Research Station Hagari. Field experiments have been laid out to test the performance of HDC-75 along wih other checks over years and over locations. It is a dual purpose (for both green and red chilli) significantly high yielding genotype over best check pusa jwala which is grown only for green purpose and is comparable with another popular check G-3 in all respects. HDC-75 excelled in dry fruit yield to the extent of 30%, 33%, 33% and 18% over ruling checks G-3, byadgi dabbi, byadgi Kaddi and GPC-82 respectively. It recorded moderate ASTA colour units of 114.9 and capsaicin percentage of 0.37 as compared to 60.4 colour units and 0.41% of capsaicin than that of pusa jwala. HDC-75 (2.8) is comparatively tolerant to powdery mildew pusa jwala (5.0).
