April 22,2011 Dear Dr. Roy, Thank you for presenting to readers some wonderful write-ups on education in the March-April 2011 issue of your journal Science and Culture. The two articles by Sri M. K. Pal on education in India are truly informative and these deserve to be preserved as reference material. I have specially enjoyed reading your editorial, Education-value for life, particularly the words of Vivekananda in the beginning and the quotation at the end. The other articles were also very good. There are countless definitions of 'education' and there has been endless debate on goals of education. We can perhaps sum up all those by saying that a good education gives a person, above all, a good character and a good attitude. Thanking you once again for this excellent issue and with regards.
