Loyalty has always been one of mankind's most likeable qualities. Treat him right, and he'll keep coming back. For many business owners, consumer loyalty has become their key differentiation as superstores and warehouse outlets threaten their bottom line. When the Minneapolis-based Mall of America opened five years ago, the Ridgedale Mall in nearby Minnetonka faced a dilemma. How could it possibly compete with the mall to beat all malls? While its competitors delved into major renovations and expansions, Ridgedale decided its answer was to develop better communication with its existing customer base.
