The team looked at all the requirements for factors including vibration, noise, lighting, ventilation, surfaces and colours and set out to "provide an ergonomic environment for an optimum and convenient operation by its navigators."rnEhrke outlined some of the solutions for reducing sound and vibration levels, including the use of sound-absorbing surfaces and 'floating' floors, and a sandwich plate for the bulkheads to reduce noise.
