摘要

The following was overheard on VHF Channel 16/68 on a coastal passage. The vessel made VHF contact with the marine rescue co-ordination centre (MRCC) to report a medical emergency. It was established that one crew member was lapsing into a diabetic coma and that the master was seeking medical advice.rnMRCC: "Please let me have your telephone number so we can call you direct."rnVessel: "We can't give you the number because only the radio officer knows how to work the satellite telephone and he is the one who is sick."
