Several crew members of the Panama-flagged ro-ro Leila, held by Somali port authorities for the past six months, are suffering from heat-stroke and two are "very ill", the leader of an African seafarers association has told SASI.rn"The port authorities have been regularly sending gunmen to check over the ship," Andrew Mwangura, the leader of the East Africa Seafarers Assistance Programme, explained to SASI in February. "It is very hot and there is no air-conditioning on board. The captain and crew have very little food or water and haven't been paid by their owner since September last year."
