IMO outlines ECDIS fears

The IMO expressed concern over the operational performance of some ECDIS systems as the first stage of mandatory carriage requirement for the navigational aid came into force. Several issues were highlighted during the 58th session of the IMO's Sub-Committee on Safety of Navigation held between 2 and 6 July in London. The sub-committee found problems with the interpretation of standards by chart producers, original equipment manufacturers and testers.
