Gulf of Guinea boardings

Two incidents in early January in the Gulf of Guinea have again underlined the need for vigilance in the region. Three robbers armed with knives boarded a berthed container ship at Douala Port in Cameroon early on the morning of 7 January, the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) reported. The duty able seaman noticed some suspicious movement at the forecastle and saw one end of a mooring rope floating in the water, the IMB's report outlined.
