The power of procedure: Sulphur cap safety

Predictable early price shocks aside, the shipping industry's transition to 0.5% sulphur fuels appears to have been smooth sailing thus far. Concerns about fuel compatibility and availability plagued the sector for years prior to the International Maritime Organization's 1 January 2020 implementation deadline. However, there is little evidence to suggest that any of the imagined worst-case scenarios have played out at sea. Nonetheless, shipping companies and their staff must remain watchful to avoid untoward incidents.
