Nl forum to promote waste- sector standards

Key stakeholders from across Northern Ireland's waste and recycling sector are to come together in a forum to identify, devise and promote activities to improve health and safety standards across the industry.Spearheaded by the Health 6 Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI) and the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) Northern Ireland Centre, the forum was launched at the end of March by Northern Ireland health minister Edwin Poots.Welcoming the initiative, Mr Poots said: "The waste and recycling industry is a growing and dynamic sector. Like any other industrial process, however, the management of waste does carry risks and I welcome the establishment of the WISH Nl forum as a means to improve risk management and protect all those working in the sector."
