IOSH welcomes decision to maintain HSE independence

A Government decision to maintain the independence of the UK's health and safety regulator has been welcomed by IOSH. The Department for Work and Pensions published its full response to a review of the role of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on 26 June. In it, the Government agreed with a recommendation that the HSE should continue to operate as a non-departmental public body, which is one functioning 'at arm's length' from ministers.
