Head-Up and Head-Down Display test and Evaluation

摘要

In recent years, aircraft flight and navigation information has migrated form conventional round mechanical dials mounted on the instrument panel to software-dependent electronic displays capable of showing many types of information. In many cases, these displays are see- through head-up displays. Test and evaluation tech- niques have not progressed commensurate with display technology. A formal test and evaluation program is pro- posed to ensure that new information displays support the pilot's flight tasks. An outline of test requirements is presented for use in future flight display programs.
