The worldwide number of deadly road traffic accidents is in a critical range with 1.25 million incidents in 2013. In addition, it is particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMIC) that the motorization rate and thus the number of road traffic accidents will continue to increase (WHO 2015). It is to be assumed that a large part of road traffic accidents is also due to an insufficient foot traffic infrastructure.
