A question of character Just how entrepreneurial are architects?

Few architects see themselves as entrepreneurs. Yet entrepreneurial skills are recognised as key to success in business, and architects have some of the obvious characteristics of entrepreneurs. The question is: do architects have the most important entrepreneurial characteristics that will enable them to really succeed? A survey at University of Strathclyde -Exploring Entrepreneurship among Scottish Architects by Robin Th'ng and Subi Jeong -attempted to answer question by surveying 60 Scottish architects. The results show that most architects possess a range of entrepreneurial characteristics, but in varying degrees, and that younger architects (less than 10 years of work experience) show a more entrepreneurial bent than more experienced architects.
