Walking through Lincoln's Inn Fields after his PR firm's press breakfast at the Soane Museum, the photographer asks Ole Scheeren if he's comfortable having his photo taken. His subject doesn't seem to be easily unsettled: 15 years earlier as a maverick 24 year-old architectural student, he blew out the AA School the day before he was supposed to start, flew to Rotterdam and walked into OMA's office demanding a job from Rem Koolhaas. Qualifying later, he quickly rose to partner in 2002 via a string of high profile Prada shops and cultural projects. Not content with that, aged 34 he took on the commission to be project architect for OMA's new CCTV HQ, the most high profile project in Asia, and arguably, one of the most avant-garde in the world.
