Getting strategic with secondary recycled glass markets

One of the most useful substances on earth, glass is completely and per- petually recyclable. No matter how many times it gets melted down and reshaped, it never loses its properties of transparency, hard- ness, zero water absorption and durability. And yet, if you keep up with recycling trends, you know that glass, with one of the lowest recycling rates, is the recycling problem child. Only about 25 percent of the 12 to 14 million tons of glass waste generated each year is recycled. A mere pittance of glass bottles is returned intact to be sanitized and refilled with more of the same liquid.
