摘要

Ce~(3+) and Eu~(2+) co-doped LaMgAl_(11)O_(19), hexaaluminate phosphor has been successfully synthesized by one step combustion synthesis method using mixture of two fuels. Photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra are investigated in detail. Ce~(3+) and Eu~(2+)activated phosphors show emission bands at 350 nm and 445 nm respectively in ultraviolet and blue region. Energy transfer behavior is observed from Ce~(3+) to Eu~(2+), which yields intense blue color emission at 445 nm. Concentration Quenching due to dipole-dipole interaction is observed. Maximum intensity of co-doped LaMgAl_(11)O_(19) phosphor is obtained at 5 mole% of Cerium and 3 mole% of Europium. The CIE chromaticity of LAM:Ce~(3+), Eu~(2+) phosphor was compared with the commercial BAM. LaMgAl_(11)O_(19), rare earth activated phosphor has potential candidate for UV LED, white LED and UV LASERs.
