Statistical Theories of Point Defects A Critical Review

We have investigated the reliability of the two analytical methods usually used to describe nonstoichiometry and related properties in ionic oxides: the ideal mass action law method introducing associates and the Debye-Huckel theory. To do this, we have compared the results obtained by these two models with accurate Monte Carlo Calcula- tions.
