Bird's eye view: Vu Systems launches industry-first visibility sensor

Advanced imaging technology company Vu Systems has launched Vu Cube, a passive millimetre wave (PMMW) sensor for aviation, aiming to reduce delays by providing pilots with improved visibility in adverse weather conditions. The company has been developing the technology behind the sensor since 2013. The world's first PMMW sensor for aviation, the company said pilots can use the sensor to see through heavy clouds and fog at two miles or more, and so enabling continuous and reliable take-off and landings in low-visibility weather, including zero-zero conditions.
