Moving a General Reference Course Online: Issues and Considerations

Migrating courses from a face-to-face to an online format is increasingly common as entire academic programs make the leap to online education to better accommodate distance learners. Redesigning a general reference course to make it appropriate for the online learning environment requires examining assignments, developing discussion boards, facilitating group work, and making lectures accessible to students.
