Round plug connectors - especially in M12 size - are very successful in the industrial automatization process. Also in the infrastructural sector we can no longer do without. M12 plug-in connectors transfer - like their big brothers - signals, energy and data. Even data transfer will be more and more important in the rail industry as digitalization is in full progress. As special requirements have to be fulfilled, the cabling inside the vehicles is faster and easier by using M12-connectors.This is also due to the use of common connection technologies which are specified in the article: crimp-, spring force or compliant termination.
