Fishplate monitoring

Among the products launched by small plant specialist Robel at IAF was a remote monitoring system for fishplates. The tool is intended to remove the need for manual inspection of temporary track repairs. Sensors mounted on each side of the rail joint monitor both lateral movement and rail deflection; if uneven movement between the two sensors is detected, an alert can automatically be sent by SMS or email ; to inform maintenance staff.
