It is also well known that rail's environmental edge does not stem from decades of intensive work to ensure maximum economy in the use of natural resources for operations but rather is attributable to the advantages inherent in the system's wheel/rail concept: 1. Low steel-on-steel rolling friction; 2. Guidance function of track allows driving long trains; 3. Grouping of consignments ensures efficiency.
