King's Cross upgrade complete

September 27 saw the last of 10 new lifts brought into service at London Underground's King's Cross St Pancras station, providing access to the City branch of the Northern Line. In addition to completing the provision of step-free access between the eight LU platforms and both main line termini, it marks completion of a massive reconstruction programme that started in 2000 with the Western Ticket Hall between St Pancras and the Euston Road.
