EMT spends ￡22m at Etches Park

Stagecoach Group Chief Executive Brian Souter officially opened the new Etches Park North depot in Derby on May 20. Built at a cost of ￡22m, it complements an existing facility to provide additional capacity for maintaining East Midlands Trains' fleet of 27 Bombardier Class 222 Meridian DEMUs. Designed and built by C Spencer Ltd over a period of 17 months, the new facility has three roads, one equipped with synchronised Pffaf jacks capable of lifting a seven-car Meridian. Other equipment includes a Kone overhead crane and a Hegenscheidt wheel lathe.rnEnhanced fuelling facilities are also provided.
