Half-price travel for jobseekers

With local unemployment standing at 12-8% in Manchester and 11 -2°/o in Liverpool, data published by ATOC on October 30 shows a high take-up of Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount Cards, which allow those seeking work to enjoy a 50% discount on rail tickets when they are travelling to interviews, to a Jobcentre or training for work. From the start of November, a single national discount card has been available to eligible people in England, Wales and Scotland who have been out of work for 13 weeks instead of the usual six months.
