On behalf of the London Legacy Development Corporation, Network Rail has begun work on a £25m project at Hackney Wick station, including the construction of a new entrance and ticket hall at street level. Work is due for completion in January 2018. Lifts are to be installed to provide access to the platforms, and a new subway is to be driven through the railway embankment to connect Wallis Road with White Post Lane. The subway is cur- rently under construction on land adjacent to the station and will be moved into position in spring 2017.
