Much interest in WCP

Held by DfT on January 27, the bidders' day for the West Coast Partnership (RB1526 pi) was attended by more than 100 organisations. In addition to potential franchise bidders (right), consultancies, funders and rolling stock owners, there was strong representation from train builders and other sectors of the supply chain. Speakers included Martin Frobisher, Network Rail's Route Managing Director, London North Western, HS2 Ltd board member Richard Brown and Passenger Focus Chief Executive Anthony Smith. David Rollafson, Chief Technology Officer of the Transport Systems Catapult, spoke on innovation, while Transport Minister Paul Maynard gave the keynote address.
