R/c Scale Oudtshoorn 2008

Having had to endure the less than pleasant (rain, wind, overcast, etc.) weather that we have had this summer in the UK, it was a very welcome invitation that I received to once again attend the R/C Scale Show at Outdshoom in South Africa. I have attended this wonderful show before and the thought of enjoying warm sunshine, clear skies and a great crowd of modellers proved too difficult to resist! So after due consideration, it was felt that if we were travelling that distance, it would be worthwhile and an ideal opportunity to enjoy a belated holiday either before or after the show as the attractions of South Africa, especially in and around the Oudtshoorn area, are both plentiful and truly delightful. Flying into Cape Town a few days before the event started, I was pleased to see that at least some of my expectations were correct. The money in your pocket went a whole lot further than back home and the service was all you could ever wish for. However, the weather was not very good at all! It was cold, wet and windy and certainly not what we had hoped for or expected.
