The flying season is well under way by now and quite a few events have been held in very good conditions but spare a thought for the Scots, who have had their first six competitions cancelled due to bad weather! Many model flyers these days fly models they have bought, rather than scratch-built, but it is not unusual to occasionally see people struggling to acquire a trim which suits them. This doesn't necessarily mean that a particular model has been 'made wrong'; more likely the way it is set up just doesn't suit your flying style. This is exactly the same as with say Formula 1 teams, who spend hours on finding the perfect car/driver set up at every race track but significantly, neither of their cars will eventually be set up the same, they will be tuned to suit each individual driver's style. Once each person's ideal setting is found the two cars will probably lap within 0.1 second of each other. The same is true of gliders; what I think is a nice comfortable set up, you might hate!
