Two sets of billionaire brothers were this week involved in actions aimed at restructuring debts of more than £lbn. Ian and Richard Livingstone and Moises and Mendi Gertner are both attempting to refinance or restructure loans that were parcelled up and sold to bondholders during the credit boom.Their efforts are indicative of the pressures on private property companies to reduce the leverage against portfolios bought during the boom, the value of which has been eroded by recession.
