Hammerson hits it off with new London boss

Hammerson has poached howard Holdings UK director Martin Jepson to head its f 1.5bn London division.Jepson, who has already begun work at the UK's third-largest listed property company, will replace former London managing director Sven Topel, who left Hammerson a year ago to join East Anglia-based Ashwell Property.He will be responsible for Hammerson's development and investment programme in London, but Hammerson investment director John Mulqueen will continue to manage the London investment portfolio on a day-to-day basis.Jepson, who has a long-established development pedigree, will oversee a range of projects, such as City of London office schemes at 60 Threadneedle and 125 Old Broad Street, that are already under construction and near completion.He will be in charge of delivering the remainder of Hammerson's plans for its ￡750m, 4.5m sq ft Bishop's Quarter regeneration programme. The scheme's firstphase, Bishop's Square, is let to Allen & Overy and is Hammerson's highest valued propertyin its entire ￡7.3bn portfolio at ￡597m.
