National economic parameters for Hungary

This article presents one of the first published estimates of national economic parameters (NEPs) for an economy in transition. It gives a set of conversion factors (CFs) for main production sectors and primary factors in the Hungarian economy. The CFs have been calculated in the consistent semi-input-output (SIO) frame. The reference period for statistical data is 1986-93. The economic value of labour is estimated as a weighted average of the sectoral CFs which were the principal suppliers of particular types of labour.
