PASMA Creates New Standard for Low-Level Work Platforms

PASMA, the trade group representing the mobile access tower industry, has created Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 250. This standard addresses the design of low-level work platforms or podiums/pulpits, and establishes minimum safety and performance requirements for such products. According to the group, the standard covers all low-level work platforms with one working platform and side protection, for use by one person with a maximum working platform height of under approximately 8.2 ft. Publishing this standard is the final step in PASMA's three-point plan to ensure that podium: have a consistent safety standard.
