Seaward Services tug to assist Navy in Key West

Seaward services Inc., A Florida-based maritime services company, has introduced a new 3,000-hp tugboat to provide support for the newly energized Naval Air Station in Key West. The 80-foot twin-screw tug Janet Catherine was delivered from A&B Industries in Morgan City, La., in August and piloted directly to Key West, at the end of the Florida Keys, by its captain, Gregory Hodgman. Sporting an expansive, traditional-looking wheelhouse to accommodate Navy VIPs during operations, the tug is the first company-owned vessel for Seaward Services, which operates dozens of government-owned vessels in Key West and in other ports in Florida and other states.
