What motivated you to write Put Your Mindset to Work? I had an epiphany at a special summit on The Future of Skills, where former BBC HR chief Lucy Adams said that they had the money to invest in skills development but that they didn't know what skills employers would be looking for in 10 years' time. I thought: 'I know exactly what sort of people I will want to hire!' I'd been working with the long-term unemployed for 15 years and it was clear that it was their mindsets that were going to unlock their futures. My co-author, Paul Stoltz, is an expert in human resilience, so I thought we could fuse our thinking together to help those both in and out of work.
