The usual suspects not to blame for Fujitsu closure

The announcement this month of the closure of Fujitsu's semiconductor plant at Newton Aycliffe in County Durham was quickly invested with several political interpretations, none of them truly warranted. Variously, it was the government's fau it was the fault of a problem region; it was lack of commitment by a here-today-gone-tomorrow incomer. It was, in fact, none of these.
